Kendra Ortega Carabeo, known as Kendra, is a vibrant 14-year-old who was born on October 18, 2010, in San Jose de Los Ramos, Matanzas, Cuba. Now residing in Miami, Florida, she embraces her roots while exploring new opportunities. As a proud Catholic, Kendra is fluent in her native Spanish and also speaks English, reflecting her diverse background.
In her family, she has supportive parents and a little sister who keep her motivated. Kendra has successfully completed Elementary and Middle School and is currently enrolled in Advanced Classes in High School. Alongside her academic pursuits, she is passionate about modeling and actively participates in beauty pageant competitions. Her dedication and talent have led her to be crowned Miss Teen Universe Cuba 2024, a title she wears with pride.
In the spotlight of her academic journey, she’s currently soaking up knowledge in 9th grade, enrolled in advanced courses that pave the way for her future education. In the summer of 2023, she took her first steps into the modeling industry by enrolling at Dama School. At the end of that year, she participated in the Teen Universe Cuba competition, but unfortunately didn’t win. However, she wasn’t discouraged. This year, she tried again and, after much hard work and dedication, she proudly claimed the title of Teen Universe Petite Cuba 2024. Her commitment paid off as she prepared thoroughly for the international competition. From April 7th to April 14th, she will have the honor of representing Cuba on the global stage, supported by the national organization, Miss Cuba Pageants.
In an exclusive chat with Time Trend Magazine, she opened up about her exciting journey into the world of modeling: “I embarked on this adventure in 2023, thinking it would just be about strutting in high heels. Little did I know, the experience encompasses so much more. I’m incredibly thankful to Dama School for their unwavering support from day one. Through modeling, I’ve conquered my fears and transformed into the confident young woman I am today.”

Although I didn’t take home the crown, many advised me not to pursue it again, warning that doors would close. Instead of giving up, I made a promise to myself to keep pushing forward—and I did just that! My goal is to encourage other young women to pursue their dreams relentlessly, no matter how many setbacks they face. When you believe in yourself and work hard with unwavering determination, there’s no dream that can’t be achieved.”

By providing women with tools, opportunities, and support, we enable them to unleash their full potential in their homes, workplaces, and educational paths. She shared her thoughts on Outfit Freedom: “Outfit Freedom represents the power of self-expression and the celebration of individual style. Fashion serves as a vital medium for expressing who you are, and everyone should have the liberty to wear what resonates with their sense of beauty, empowerment, and comfort. As a beauty queen, I believe that true elegance is about embracing your own style without apology, regardless of whether it’s a stunning gown or a relaxed outfit. Ultimately, it goes beyond just clothing; it’s about feeling your absolute best and allowing your unique personality to shine.”
She expressed, “As someone who has held the title of beauty queen, I firmly believe that sexual freedom encompasses the right of every person to express their sexuality openly, confidently, and with respect. It’s crucial to emphasize the importance of consent and personal boundaries. Each individual should have the autonomy to make decisions regarding their bodies and relationships without the fear of judgment or discrimination.”
